This piece shows the route the US took from Matha's Vineyard to Block Island during the 1977 America's Cup Victory. The original piece was done 30 years ago. The US won the America's Cup in 29 different years, holding the cup for well over a century -- an unmatched record in all of sports. Here, Neiman depicts the second victory of the American 12-Meter yacht Corageous, the 1977 challenge. It was won by Courageous skippered by Ted Turner (of TBS, CNN, and other broadcasting fame).
